What are the details on one-way connection or two-way connection?

When the end user initiates sending data, our server allows the data in XML format, secured by the application authentication process, to take place. When the end user initiates a request for data (i.e. code list), the server responds and will send that specific data. There is no open, two-way communication or flow of data.
