This issue can be resolved by logging into a windows account that is not setup as temporary.
You can check this by going to the control panel, selecting user accounts (or user profiles in XP). Select user accounts again and then click configure advanced user profile properties.
If you are unable to change your account you can force the computer to not create a temporary profile by not allowing temporary profiles. This should only be done with the assistance from your local IT department.
